Robert Bell was born and raised in Philadelphia. The Myth of Rock and Roll: The Racial Politics of American Popular Music; 1945-2005 is Mr. Bell’s first book although he has written numerous essays for local publications. Republicans Are Pigs, Except for My Dad is a collection of essays and thoughts, most of which were written between 1999 and 2003 for Real News, a Philadelphia journal for progressive writers. Mr. Bell has a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Temple University, works as non-profit management executive and has been active in many social justice movements. Mr. Bell is the father of two children.
